Indian Chef – North Indian Cuisine (Full-Time)

Location: Saffron Kitchen (Coming Soon), Ongar, Dublin 15

Join Our Team!

Saffron Kitchen is an exciting new Indian restaurant opening soon in Ongar, Dublin 15. We are looking for a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Indian Chef to become a key member of our kitchen team.

Key Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience in preparing authentic North Indian curries, gravies, chaat dishes, and tandoor items.
  • Strong experience working with a tandoor oven, including preparation of naan, roti, kebabs, and other tandoori specialties.
  • Several years of experience working in a professional Indian restaurant kitchen.
  • Hospitality Degree, Professional Cookery qualification, or an equivalent culinary certification.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
  • Excellent skills in food plating and presentation.
  • Ability to maintain consistency in taste, quality, and portion control.
  • Capable of managing kitchen operations during service and acting as Shift In-Charge when required.
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and lead junior kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare authentic North Indian dishes, including tandoori items, to a consistently high standard.
  • Operate and manage the tandoor oven, ensuring proper temperature control and cooking techniques.
  • Ensure all gravies, curries, chaat, and tandoor items meet our quality expectations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and HACCP food safety standards.
  • Assist with stock control and minimise food waste.
  • Train and support junior kitchen staff, particularly in tandoor operations.
  • Contribute new menu ideas and maintain high presentation standards.
