Full job description

Our client, a prestigious hotel in West Cork, is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Assistant Restaurant Manager will play a key role in the daily operation of the hotel’s Restaurant & Lounge, ensuring consistently high standards of service, guest satisfaction, staff supervision and operational efficiency, in line with hotel policies and procedures.

This is a hands-on position, ideal for an experienced Restaurant or Bar Supervisor looking to take the next step in their career, or an established Assistant Restaurant Manager seeking a new opportunity within a high-quality hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Manager with the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the Restaurant & Lounge.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of guest service and hospitality.
  • Be actively involved on the floor, leading by example and ensuring service standards are maintained.
  • Supervise, support and motivate the restaurant and lounge team.
  • Assist with staff training, development and performance management.
  • Deal professionally and efficiently with guest queries and feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, health & safety and service standards.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and other operational duties as required.
  • Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and wider hotel management team to ensure an excellent guest experience.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous restaurant or bar supervisory/management experience is essential.
  • Experience within a 4-star hotel or high-quality hospitality environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a professional approach.
  • Confident supervising and motivating a team.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the floor.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm and effective in a busy environment.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
