Palmerstown House Pub is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, leading from the front, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy pub environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting senior management in all aspects of the business, helping to maintain high operational standards while creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for customers. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a pub, bar, or hospitality environment (3 years)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- A hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively in a busy service environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong understanding of customer service and operational excellence
- Experience in stock management, cash handling, and staff supervision
- Good knowledge of health and safety and licensed premises regulations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy trading periods
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for hospitality

About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the daily operations of the pub
- Lead, motivate, and supervise front-of-house and bar staff
- Ensure consistently high standards of customer service are delivered at all times
- Oversee opening and closing procedures
- Assist with staff training, development, and performance management
- Manage staff rosters and support with shift planning where required
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and assist with stock control procedures
- Ensure all health, safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations are fully adhered to
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently
- Support the delivery of sales targets, cost controls, and overall business performance
- Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and organisation throughout the venue
