Full job description

The Talbot Hotel Midleton is looking to fill the position of Food & Beverage Supervisor. This is a full time salaried position, with the role rostered for 39 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7, ideal candidates will be flexible with working evenings and weekends in a busy 4 star hotel.


Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager and the General Manager, you will assist in the smooth and efficient running of the hotel restaurant, bar &/or banqueting departments, to ensure profitable operation whilst complying with Company Standards and ensuring complete guest satisfaction at all times.


Main Duties to include :

  • To ensure the smooth management of the food & beverage service in conjunction with the Deputy General Manager and the supervisory team
  • Dealing with situations and customer queries as they arise
  • Check and ensure adequate beverage and wine stock levels on a regular basis
  • Ensure all orders are taken accurately and serviced efficiently.
  • To ensure all staff have sufficient knowledge of menus, beverages and service standards and to identify any training needs in relation to these areas, conducting training with staff when required
  • To ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the Bar, Restaurant & Banqueting and other related areas
  • To ensure the correct set up in the Restaurant, Bar &/or Restaurant prior to service and to ensure the right atmosphere is created
  • To assist in the rostering of staff accurately and effectively according to business requirements and to monitor these business levels daily
  • Supervise, control and monitor all staff on duty ensuring all duties are being fully carried out in accordance with Company Procedures
  • To ensure a high standard of service and attention to detail within the hotel/your department
  • Check the main safe at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Ensure all floats are accurate before giving to each department
  • To maximise staff productivity and encourage staff motivation by helping to create a positive working environment.
  • To deal with customer complaints in an efficient and professional manner and to notify Management of these.
