Front of House Receptionist

Errigal Country House Hotel, Cootehill, Co. Cavan

We are looking for a friendly, professional and experienced Front of House Receptionist to join our team at the Errigal Country House Hotel.

As one of the first points of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in creating a warm welcome and ensuring every guest receives excellent service throughout their stay.

We are looking for someone who is confident, organised, approachable and comfortable dealing with guests both face-to-face and over the phone. Previous hotel or reception experience would be a strong advantage, although training will be provided on our systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming guests and providing a friendly and professional check-in/check-out experience
  • Handling room reservations, amendments and cancellations
  • Answering telephone calls, emails and general enquiries
  • Taking payments and maintaining accurate guest accounts
  • Assisting guests with requests and resolving issues efficiently and professionally
  • Communicating with housekeeping, food & beverage and management to ensure a smooth guest experience
  • Assisting with wedding, function, restaurant and hotel enquiries
  • Keeping the reception and front-of-house areas professional and welcoming
  • Completing general reception and administrative duties
  • Providing excellent customer service at all times

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have previous experience in hotel reception, hospitality or a customer-facing role
  • Have a warm, outgoing and professional personality
  • Are confident dealing with guests and handling busy periods
  • Have good computer and administration skills
  • Have excellent communication and telephone skills
  • Are organised and have strong attention to detail
  • Can work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Are reliable, punctual and take pride in your work
  • Are flexible and available to work a mixture of shifts, including weekends when required
