About Us

Coach House Coffee is a busy, award-winning café located at the historic Kilmacthomas Workhouse on the Waterford Greenway. We pride ourselves on using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce to create wholesome and memorable dishes for our customers. Our team is expanding, and we are now seeking a Commis Chef / Chef de Partie to join our kitchen brigade.

Role Overview

As a Commis Chef / Chef de Partie , you will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering consistently high standards of food preparation, cooking, and presentation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and progress in a professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes in line with menus and recipes.
  • Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented to the required standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in all kitchen areas.
  • Assist with stock rotation, labelling, and storage procedures.
  • Follow instructions from senior chefs and contribute positively to the smooth running of service.
  • Comply with all HACCP and food safety regulations.
  • Support the wider kitchen team in delivering excellent customer experiences.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential.
  • A passion for food and willingness to learn and develop.
  • Knowledge of basic food hygiene practices (HACCP training desirable).
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays as required.

Contract Details

  • Contract type: Permanent, full-time (subject to successful probation).
  • Hours of work: 24hrs Part Time / 39 hours per week Full Time (rostered, including weekends).
  • Probation period: 6 months.
  • Annual leave: 20 days per year (pro rata), plus public holidays, in accordance with the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997.
