We are seeking to hire a Catering / Kitchen Assistant to join the KSG Catering team in our restaurant in Western Extension Industrial Estate, Waterford, X91 V62N.
This role is primarily Monday to Friday, with daytime hours between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, working 20 hours per week. Flexibility to work occasional weekends is required to meet business needs.

Requirements
- A friendly, positive, and can-do attitude
- Previous experience in a catering, kitchen, or hospitality environment is desirable
- Kitchen porter or kitchen assistant experience is an advantage
- Good understanding of food hygiene and HACCP principles
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Flexibility to assist in different areas of the kitchen as required
- Manual handling knowledge is desirable (training can be provided)
Responsibilities
- Assisting with basic food preparation as directed by the chefs
- Washing pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils
- Operating and maintaining the dishwasher
- Keeping the kitchen, food preparation areas, and storage areas clean and organised
- Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, and waste disposal areas
- Receiving and storing deliveries in accordance with food safety procedures
- Assisting with stock rotation and ensuring correct food storage
- Following all HACCP and food safety procedures, including record keeping where required
- Assisting with waste management and recycling procedures
- Supporting the catering team during busy service periods
- Attending to customer needs when required
- Clearing and cleaning tables to ensure a pleasant dining environment
- Cleaning general dining and floor areas
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer service at all times
- Going the extra mile to provide an excellent customer experience
