Job Description – Waiter / Waitress

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Waiter/Waitress to join our team. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, ensure guests have an enjoyable dining experience, and work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and escort them to their tables.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions about food and beverages.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
  • Check on customers during their meals to ensure satisfaction and respond to requests.
  • Clear tables, reset them, and maintain a clean and organised dining area.
  • Prepare the restaurant before opening and assist with closing duties at the end of each shift.
  • Process cash and card payments accurately using the POS system.
  • Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and health & safety.
  • Restock cutlery, napkins, condiments, and other service items as required.
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Good time management and a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene practices is an advantage.
