The Gooseberry Cafe in Longford Town opens Tuesday to Saturday (9-5)

Its award winning restaurant in its first year of operation. We have a very strong customer base where the quality of the food is valued.

The restaurant is decorated to a very-high standard with state of the art kitchen equipment.

We are now looking to recruit a Commis Chef where the emphasis will be on preparing and serving top quality food dishes. Experience in baking and pastry preparation would be a distinct advantage but not essential.

This is excellent opportunity for the right candidate to learn and grow in a friendly work environment where everyone will be treated equally.

Main purpose of the role:
Working alongside the kitchen staff in the food production areas to provide our customers with excellent quality dishes in a timely manner.

Deputies for the Chef when they are off.

The ideal candidate will have/be:
1-2 years` experience in a kitchen environment

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fully trained in HACCP and food safety.
• Have a true passion for culinary food while been creative and innovative with the preparation of dishes.
• Customer focused in building a quality and loyal customer base.
• Is enthusiastic about staying updated on culinary trends and incorporating new ideas into menu offerings
• Main duties:
• Assist in the preparation of the food.
• Support the smooth running of food production operations
• Oversee inventory management, including stock control and dealing with suppliers.
• Complete all relevant documentation, including temperature checks and food safety records
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
