Flynn’s Bar & Restaurant – Banagher, Co. Offaly

Full-time | Permanent

Flynn’s Bar & Restaurant is a busy, family-run bar and restaurant located in Banagher, Co. Offaly. We are looking for an experienced Bar & Restaurant Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business.

This is an important role within the business and would suit an ambitious hospitality professional who enjoys working in a busy environment and wants genuine responsibility.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of both the bar and restaurant, ensuring consistently high standards of service, food, cleanliness and customer experience.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the bar and restaurant
  • Leading, motivating and managing the hospitality team
  • Preparing staff rotas and managing staffing levels
  • Training and onboarding new employees
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service
  • Ensuring food, beverage and service standards are consistently maintained
  • Managing stock levels, ordering and reducing wastage
  • Monitoring sales and identifying opportunities to increase revenue
  • Handling customer queries and resolving issues professionally
  • Ensuring all health & safety, food safety and licensing requirements are followed
  • Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
  • Overseeing opening and closing procedures
  • Managing cash handling and daily procedures
  • Supporting promotions, events and new initiatives
  • Managing and developing the business’s social media presence
  • Helping develop and implement new ideas to grow the food and drinks offering
  • Ensuring staff presentation, performance and standards remain consistently high

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous management experience in a busy bar, restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Confidence managing and motivating a team
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of sales, wages, stock control and margins
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions in a busy environment

  • Professional approach with a strong focus on standards

Previous experience in a management or senior supervisory position is essential.
