Full job description

We are looking for a talented chef de partie to help our culinary team create memorable meals for our patrons. You will be responsible for a specific section of the kitchen, preparing high-quality food that meets the head chef's standards, and ensuring that your station is sanitary and well-stocked. To be successful as a chef de partie, you should be someone who can keep a level head when working under pressure. The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player, willing to go the extra mile in pursuit of great food and exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
  • Cooking and service of food according to the restaurant’s quality and service standards .
  • Training of kitchen staff as directed by Chef‐in‐charge.
  • Safety and cleanliness of all kitchen and food storage areas
  • Ensure hygiene levels are maintained in accordance to HACCP
  • Ensuring high levels of kitchen team performance.
  • Contributing to creating a harmonious environment amongst all staff within the restaurant.
  • To deputise in the Chef’s absence and take charge of the kitchen when directed to do so

Essential requirements:

  • HACCP qualification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or experience in a more junior position within a larger kitchen, including supervisory, stock control and training responsibilities

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

A Chef de Partie:

  • Demonstrates an ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is of a high standard
  • Interacts positively, respectfully, and professionally with supervisors, co‐workers, and members of the public.
  • Is willing to learn the ability to read, analyse, and interpret technical procedures, recipes, manuals or statutory regulations.
  • Has the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and colleagues.
  • Comes to work when rostered, is punctual and sets a good example of character and ethic.
  • Follows directions, takes criticism positively, and at all times refrains from abusive and/or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Is honest in all manner of engagement with the enterprise and guests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €16.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Mullingar, County Westmeath: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
