About us
Platter by Lu is a busy café and artisan pantry known for beautiful food, great coffee and a warm welcome. Weekends are our busiest and best days, and we’re looking for someone to own them.

The role
We need a confident, switched-on person to be the presence on the floor at weekends. You’ll set the tone, keep everything running smoothly and make sure every customer leaves happy. This isn’t a stand-behind-the-counter job. You’ll be the person the team looks to and the person customers remember.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and coordinate the floor on Saturdays and Sundays, directing staff and keeping service flowing during busy periods
  • Take orders at the till for all customers
  • Know the menu, platters, ingredients, allergens and daily specials inside out so you can answer any question with confidence
  • Make excellent barista-standard coffee, quickly and consistently
  • Prepare and plate food to our standard, including platters, when needed
  • Greet, seat and look after customers with genuine warmth, and handle any issues calmly and professionally
  • Manage orders, collections and bookings, and keep the till running accurately
  • Keep the shop clean, stocked and looking its best from open to close
  • Be the point of contact for the team and keep [owner’s name] in the loop on anything important

What we’re looking for

  • At least 1–2 years’ experience in a café, restaurant or hospitality setting
  • A natural, confident communicator who’s comfortable taking charge
  • Strong barista skills
  • Food prep experience and a good eye for presentation
  • Calm under pressure, organised, and quick to spot what needs doing
  • Reliable, punctual and available every weekend
  • HACCP / food safety training (or willing to complete it)
  • Bonus: supervisory or team-lead experience
