Food & Beverage Manager – Coffee House & Bar, Bettystown
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Food & Beverage Manager to join our seaside Coffee House & Bar located in Bettystown. Serving artisan coffee, fresh bakes, casual dining, and a carefully curated drinks menu, we are a thriving community hub by day and a lively bar by night (4 nights).
This role is ideal for an enthusiastic, energetic and highly motivated hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and experience in coffee house, restaurant, or bar management.
Objective of the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Food & Beverage Manager will oversee the daily operations of key functions within the Coffee House & Bar and support the General Manager in driving standards, team development, customer experience, and business growth.
This is a front facing role.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Operational Management
- Oversee the full operations of the Coffee House & Bar, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality service at all times.
- Ensure that brand standards, quality levels, and operational procedures are consistently achieved and exceeded.
- Anticipate customer needs and proactively manage expectations to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Assist in the daily management of rosters, forecasting, menu planning, and operational workflows.
- Ensure the venue maintains the highest standards of ambiance, décor, cleanliness, and music throughout the day and evening.
- Support the creation, implementation, and management of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including cleaning protocols and Health & Safety compliance (HACCP).
Customer Experience
- Guarantee that all customers receive warm, attentive, and professional service.
- Actively resolve customer issues promptly and efficiently, maintaining a commitment to excellence.
- Foster a welcoming, friendly, and community-focused environment.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Assist in managing and supervising floor and bar staff to ensure consistent productivity and performance.
- Lead staff scheduling, training, coaching, and performance meetings.
- Manage staff recruitment, induction, and ongoing development.
- Promote a positive team culture, leading by example with a can-do, upbeat attitude.
Administration & Reporting
- Prepare professional end-of-day reports and contribute to weekly operational reporting.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering processes, and waste management in line with business requirements.
- Support the General Manager with business initiatives, budgeting, and operational improvements.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Work with the General Manager to develop social media content, live music schedules, seasonal events, and promotional activities.
- Keep up to date with current food, coffee, and drink trends, bringing fresh ideas to the table.
- Identify new opportunities to enhance customer experience and grow the business.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry (coffee shop, restaurant, or bar).
- Proven track record in managing fast-paced service environments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- A mature, friendly, and professional manner for interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience training, motivating, and developing teams.
- Ability to recognise new ideas and opportunities, contributing to business growth.
- Preferably familiar with local demand patterns and café/bar operational models.
- Competent in creating and presenting professional reports and business initiatives.
- A good sense of humour, high energy, and a passion for hospitality.
