FISH & GRILL
JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE

  • To represent the company’s high standards of personal presentation and behaviour at all times during a shift.
  • To deputise for the Head Chef and Sous Chef at times, leading by example and ensuring the smooth and safe running of kitchen at all times.
  • To exceed guest expectations by serving food and drink in a professional, knowledgeable and accommodating manner.
  • To learn and retain a comprehensive understanding of all menu items to ensure maximum benefit to the guest and the ability to work effectively.
  • To willingly assist customers when the need arises – e.g. making recommendations and generally anticipating their needs.
  • To bring a positive attitude to teamwork, contributing to the smooth running of the restaurant and interacting productively with other departments.
  • To maintain the standards and culture of the team by setting an example to new members of staff and assisting in their training when required.

REPORTING TO

  • The Head or Sous Chef / Restaurant Manager on duty

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To report for duty, punctually, wearing the correct uniform
  • To supervise the kitchen staff under the direction of the Head Chef, ensuring that the highest standards are met and that communication between all sections and restaurant departments is efficient and polite.
  • To produce menu items for service co-ordinating with other departments, maintaining the highest standards and always adhering to the spec to achieve the correct quality, appearance and portion size.
  • To monitor the quality and presentation of dishes so that only those which meet our highest standards are served to customers.
  • To ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained by following cleaning routines and through ongoing diligence during the shift and in set up and clean down procedures.
  • To observe the company’s fire plan and health and safety policy
  • To observe the rules and procedures of the company
  • To carry out any other reasonable duty that may be requested by the manager
