Job Summary
Galway City Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates with relevant experience to create a panel for the role of I.S. Data Analyst/Developer.
Working as part of the Council’s ICT and Digital Department, the IS Analyst/Developer will be involved in/responsible for:
- The development and delivery ICT application projects, developing power apps, business process innovations and intuitive User Interface (UI) designs for optimal user experience (UX).
- Providing technical support to the organisation across Business Solutions, Data Management and Infrastructure Management.
- Analysis of enterprise systems as required by the business, to surface insights in the data held within
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Participate in national and regional shared service opportunities in on-going projects as required including achieving project deadlines and engaging with national and other external bodies for the rollout of national systems.
- Maintain proficiency in all aspects of GCC Information systems/software and production.
- Keep current with new technologies and introduce systems which utilise these technologies to optimise existing services and provide new service opportunities for the organisation.
- Contribute to the setting of operational performance indicators relating to applications & databases
- Raise risks and issues as appropriate to the operation of Applications databases in GCC.
- Respond to and resolve service desk tickets and other support issues as required. Additional duties as may be assigned by the Head of ICT from time to time.
The ideal candidate shall possess proven RECENT experience in the following areas:
- MS Power Platform, Power Automate and Power BI development
- Dataverse administration and support
- Dynamics 365 CRM
- SQL database administration, maintenance, troubleshooting and support
- SQL Server management, backups, integration and APIs
The ideal candidate should also possess:
- Knowledge of the latest and emerging application development techniques and technologies;
- Proven ability to collaborate and work as part of a team or individually
- An ability to take on complex problems or situations and take a solution-focused and creative approach to dealing with them;
- Initiative and enthusiasm for new developments or changing work practices and the drive to implement change effectively;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Have a satisfactory knowledge of Local Government in Ireland
