Job Description
This role is an excellent opportunity for a developer with more than 4 years’ experience in PL/SQL development to apply their analytical skills while working with product owners, cross-disciplinary teams and QA to deliver high-quality functional solutions.
The role involves a number of responsibilities including:
- Managing project source code and documentation
- Developing and maintaining packages for background processing and reports
- Developing and maintaining reports using PL/SQL, OAP and APEX
- Providing ad hoc reports using SQL and PL/SQL
- Analysing and resolving database issues
- Advising on Oracle features and best practices
Knowledge of Oracle’s spatial extensions would be beneficial due to a geospatial component in the project.
Knowledge of APEX and OAP would also be beneficial.
Qualifications
Essential requirements
- 4+ years’ Oracle PL/SQL Developer experience
- Good understanding of code version management and code promotion practices in an enterprise environment
- Good knowledge of source control tools
- Effective communication (written and oral), interpersonal, analytical and organisational skills
- Experience with effort estimation and requirements gathering
- Database tuning and performance monitoring skills
- Understanding of data modelling and database design
- Familiarity with preparing and maintaining technical documentation
Desirable experience
- Completion of an Oracle Professional Certification
- Familiarity with unit testing and continuous integration
- Knowledge of APEX and OAP
