With over 75 years of industry expertise, we combine stability with innovation in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. If you’re eager to support a top-performing team and develop your skills in sales administration, read on…

Your Role: Sales Coordinator
As a Sales Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in underpinning our sales success. You’ll be the first point of contact for customer accounts, ensuring smooth order progression and exceptional service. Working closely with our Sales Executives, you’ll manage enquiries, process orders, and proactively revive lapsed accounts. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will help maintain our high standards and drive operational efficiency.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Sales Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the External Sales Representative, helping to maximise sales performance across the territory. Acting as the primary point of contact for customer accounts, you'll manage day-to-day administration, process customer orders, prepare and follow up quotations, and help reactivate lapsed accounts.

You'll identify opportunities to grow existing business through strategic upselling and cross-selling, building strong customer relationships along the way. A key aspect of the role is taking a proactive approach to outbound calls, engaging with both existing and prospective customers to generate new opportunities, strengthen customer engagement and support business growth.

You'll also:

  • Support sales growth by managing customer enquiries, quotations and order progression.
  • Use our CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics) to maintain accurate customer records, track activity and monitor opportunities.
  • Work closely with the External Sales Representative, Purchasing and Logistics teams to ensure customer expectations and delivery times are consistently met.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining exceptional service standards.
  • Build lasting customer relationships through responsive communication and a solution-focused approach.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and enjoys building relationships with customers. You'll be proactive, confident communicating with people at all levels and motivated by delivering excellent service whilst helping to grow the business.

You'll also bring:

  • At least 12 months' experience in a sales coordination, sales administration or customer support role.
  • Experience handling customer enquiries and making outbound calls within a busy telephone-based environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
  • A friendly, professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities and identify practical solutions.
  • A dynamic, forward-thinking attitude with a genuine desire to learn and develop.
  • Commercial awareness and the ambition to contribute towards sales growth.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics or another CRM system would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within packaging, manufacturing or distribution would be beneficial, although not essential.

Why Choose Macfarlane?

  • 25 days holiday (rising to 27 with service) + bank holidays
  • Flexible benefits, including enhanced pension and life assurance

  • Extensive training and career development opportunities
  • Employee discounts, volunteering days, and more!
