Full job description
Funtasia Waterpark is looking for an experienced, energetic and highly organised Play Area, Parties & Group Tours Manager to lead one of the busiest areas of our operation.
Funtasia welcomes a large number of birthday parties, school tours, group visits and family outings throughout the year. We are seeking a confident manager who can lead a large team, coordinate busy schedules and ensure every guest receives the fun, safe and memorable experience for which Funtasia is known.
This is a hands-on management position with significant responsibility and is not an entry-level role. The successful candidate will combine strong people-management skills with excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and positive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and manage the team responsible for birthday parties, play areas, school tours and group visits.
- Prepare effective staff rosters based on bookings, seasonal demand and operational requirements.
- Maintain consistently high standards of customer service, presentation and guest experience.
- Train, support and monitor team members to ensure procedures and service standards are followed.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operation of Atlantis Cove Play Area, birthday parties and group bookings, ensuring activities run smoothly and on schedule.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of large school tours and group visits, particularly during the busy summer season.
- Manage the logistics associated with group visits, including staffing, scheduling, equipment, supplies and communication between departments.
- Support purchasing, procurement and stock-control activities for the department.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure the team has the materials and supplies needed to deliver each event successfully.
- Respond professionally and positively to customer queries, feedback and operational issues.
- Work closely with other Funtasia managers and departments to provide a seamless overall guest experience.
- Help maintain the high standards, reputation and welcoming atmosphere associated with the Funtasia brand.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a management or senior supervisory position.
- Proven experience leading and developing a large team.
- Strong staff-roster planning and workforce-management skills.
- Excellent organisational, logistical and time-management abilities.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
- The confidence to manage busy periods, solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience coordinating events, hospitality operations, leisure activities, group bookings or similar services.
- An understanding of stock control, purchasing or procurement.
- A positive, approachable and hands-on management style.
- The flexibility to work weekends, school holidays and extended hours during peak periods.
Experience within the leisure, hospitality, tourism, entertainment or family-attraction sectors would be an advantage.
A Seasonal Working Pattern
Funtasia is a seasonal business, and our busiest periods naturally fall when schools are closed. This means the role involves regular weekend work, school holidays and full-time hours throughout the busy summer season.
We understand that this is a different working pattern from a traditional Monday-to-Friday position. For the right person, however, it offers a unique opportunity to build a rewarding management career around a seasonal schedule that may suit their lifestyle particularly well.
Applicants should be comfortable working during our busiest periods and enthusiastic about being present when the energy, activity and excitement at Funtasia are at their highest.
Why Join Funtasia?
- Take ownership of a busy and highly visible area of the business.
- Lead and develop a large, energetic team.
- Play an important role in creating memorable celebrations and experiences for families, children, schools and community groups.
- Work in a lively, varied and fast-moving environment where no two days are the same.
- Join an established and well-known leisure destination with a strong reputation for family entertainment.
Garda vetting is mandatory for positions in Funtasia.
Benefits:
- Company pension
- On-site parking
Work Location: In person
