Full job description

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an experienced custody professional with a strong background in regulated financial services and/or digital asset custody.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant experience in custody, asset servicing, client asset safeguarding or digital asset custody, preferably within a regulated financial institution.
  • Experience working for a regulated custody provider, custodian bank, investment firm, fund service provider, digital asset custodian, crypto exchange, or other regulated financial institution providing custody or safeguarding services.
  • Strong knowledge of custody operating models, client asset segregation, reconciliation, safeguarding arrangements and operational controls.
  • Knowledge of crypto-asset custody infrastructure — including private key management, MPC technology, hot and cold wallet arrangements, transaction authorisation and access controls — would be an advantage.
  • Experience operating within a regulated environment and working closely with Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit and senior management.
  • Strong understanding of governance, operational risk and regulatory expectations applicable to custody and safeguarding activities.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior management, the Board and regulatory authorities.

Experience with MiCA, CASP regulation and/or the Central Bank of Ireland regulatory framework would be highly advantageous.

Regulatory / PCF Experience

Given the seniority and regulatory significance of the role, previous experience in a Central Bank of Ireland Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF) role would be a strong advantage.

We would particularly welcome candidates who have:

  • Previously held, or been approved for, a PCF or equivalent senior regulated role within an Irish-regulated financial institution.
  • Held a senior custody, client asset, safeguarding or asset servicing role within a Central Bank of Ireland or other EU-regulated institution.
  • Had senior-level responsibility for custody, safeguarding, client assets, asset servicing or related operational functions within a regulated financial institution.
  • Experience with the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness & Probity framework and applicable individual accountability requirements.
  • Experience engaging directly with the Central Bank of Ireland or another EU financial services regulator.

Previous PCF experience is desirable but not essential. Candidates without prior PCF appointments will also be considered where they can demonstrate substantial senior-level experience within a regulated custody, safeguarding or client asset environment.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following environments would be particularly relevant:

  • Custodian banks and global asset servicing firms;
  • Regulated fund administrators and depositaries;
  • MiFID investment firms with custody or client asset responsibilities;
  • Electronic money or payment institutions with safeguarding responsibilities;
  • Regulated digital asset custodians;
  • Crypto exchanges providing institutional custody services; or
  • EU-authorised CASPs or other regulated digital asset businesses.

Experience combining traditional financial services custody expertise with digital asset or blockchain knowledge would be particularly attractive.

Pay: €150,000.00-€170,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company events
  • Company pension
  • On-site parking
  • Work from home
