Financial Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced accounting professional to join our growing Finance team within the hospitality and leisure industry.

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant / Senior Accounts Assistant who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a hands-on, commercial approach. This is a key position within the Finance function, offering the opportunity to take ownership of core accounting activities while contributing to the financial strategy, reporting and continued growth of the business.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of the company's financial information.

The Role

This is a broad and varied position, encompassing both day-to-day financial accounting and higher-level financial management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including credit control and deposit management.
• Performing bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurate and up to date.
• Managing cash flow and supporting effective working capital management.
• Preparing and completing weekly and monthly management accounts, including P&L, KPI reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Providing accurate financial analysis and reporting across monthly, quarterly and annual periods, including actuals and forecasts.
• Preparing and reviewing financial reports for senior management and key stakeholders.
• Supporting the development and implementation of the company's financial strategy.
• Providing commercial financial insight to improve business performance, operating efficiencies and decision-making.
• Maintaining accurate, systematic and compliant accounting records.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax and statutory obligations.
• Leading and coordinating the annual audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Responding to internal and external queries in a professional and timely manner.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting.
• Working collaboratively across the wider business to provide effective financial support and business partnering.
• Following company, Finance and HR policies and procedures.
• Undertaking additional responsibilities as required to support the continued growth and development of the Finance function.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded accounting professional who is comfortable working across both operational finance and strategic financial management.

You will ideally have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• Full professional accounting qualification — ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA — or be a highly experienced part-qualified accountant with a clear path toward qualification.
• 3+ years' experience in a similar accounting role, ideally including post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience across AP, AR, credit control, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing management accounts, P&L reporting, forecasts and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of balance sheet management, cash flow and financial controls.
• Experience managing or supporting annual audits and statutory/tax compliance.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insight.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
• Excellent communication and business partnering skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Sage.

Salary is based on experience €66560-€74880 Pro Rata

Pay: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
