Position description

T he capability of our people is core to ESB’s success. As a key member of the Generation Trading HR Team, the HR Business Partner will positively impact colleagues and leaders in the organisation whilst ensuring HR processes and programmes are implemented in a manner that adds value to the business. HR Business Partners advise, coach and support management teams on people-related initiatives and matters.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships across the business to understand business priorities, workforce needs and people related challenges. Work collaboratively with HR Centres of Excellence and People Operations to deliver people initiatives and support continuous improvement.
People Strategy, Planning & Delivery: Develop HR plans, targets & KPIs with business line managers. Use insights from the analysis of people related data and leading external practices to influence and inform business decisions. Take lead responsibility for key strategic HR areas on behalf of the HR Team for GT, e.g. succession.
Talent & Capability: Identify the resourcing and capability needs of the business through succession and business planning processes. Work with Talent Acquisition (TA) to meet needs of the business.
Employee Relations: Coach people managers on Employee Relations issues in accordance with ESB Policies and Procedures. Ensure adherence to HR compliance and risk management frameworks
Change & Culture Enablement: Support organisational change initiatives/projects and facilitate a high performing organisational culture through effective people management and development. Support the implementation of Group-wide HR initiatives within GT.
As an experienced member of team, support knowledge-sharing within the team. Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment, by living our ESB values & behaviours.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

7 years’ relevant work experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build and develop key relationships with managers and other stakeholders.
Ability to work cross functionally with colleagues on a variety of projects.
Proven analytical, judgement and decision-making skills
Attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

Background in HR and knowledge of HR Practice, Policies and Procedures
An understanding of relevant legislation and procedures
Membership of CIPD

Location

This position will be based in an ESB Head Office Dublin, however travel to locations such as Moneypoint and other Asset locations will be a regular feature of the role.

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week . All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.
