Full job description

Director of Sales
Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions

Location: On site / South East Ireland
Job Type: Permanent / Full-time
Salary: Competitive salary and benefits package

The OpportunityFollowing significant investment and restoration, our client – a five-star luxury resort within a globally recognised international hotel collection – continues to strengthen its position as one of Ireland’s leading destinations for luxury leisure travel, corporate retreats, incentive programmes, conferences and special events.

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving residential corporate group business across domestic and international markets, while providing day-to-day leadership and commercial direction to the Sales and Events teams. It combines proactive business development with commercial leadership, and is ideally suited to a commercially driven hospitality professional with strong MICE experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, develop and convert residential corporate group business – meetings, conferences, incentives, retreats and group events – across domestic and international markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, event agencies, PCOs, DMCs, incentive houses and industry partners.
  • Conduct client presentations, site inspections, familiarisation visits and contract negotiations, and represent the resort at trade shows and industry events.
  • Develop strategic account plans, drive repeat business and maximise revenue across accommodation, meetings, events, dining, golf and ancillary services.
  • Provide commercial oversight of the Events function – enquiry handling, response times, conversion ratios and pipeline performance – working closely with the Events Manager and team.
  • Work with the Revenue Team to optimise business mix, pricing strategy and profitability.
  • Maintain CRM data, prepare forecasts and pipeline reports, and contribute to budgeting and commercial planning.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 3 years’ hotel sales experience, with significant exposure to the MICE sector.
  • Proven track record in proactive business development and revenue generation within hospitality; luxury hotel or resort experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the domestic and international MICE marketplace; established network of corporate, agency and event industry contacts desirable.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and presentation skills, with experience managing pipelines, forecasting and conversion performance.
  • Commercially aware, results-driven, highly organised and self-motivated in a market-facing role.

Why Join?

  • Play a key role in growing one of Ireland’s most unique luxury resort destinations, with an exceptional product offering including two distinctive accommodation experiences, championship golf and luxury dining.
  • Global hospitality network, strong career progression, and a collaborative, ambitious team environment.

All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Pay: €65,000.00-€75,000.00 per year
