Full job description

Cahalane Brothers Ltd. is seeking an experienced Shuttering Carpenter to join our Eli Lilly Kinsale construction team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct, erect and dismantle timber and system formwork for reinforced concrete works.
  • Read and interpret construction and temporary works drawings.
  • Set out formwork accurately for foundations, walls, columns, beams, slabs and stairs.
  • Install shutters, edge forms, stop-ends, box-outs and cast-in components.
  • Ensure formwork is properly aligned, level, plumb, braced and secured before concrete placement.
  • Work closely with site management, steel fixers and concrete crews.
  • Assist with concrete pours and safely strike formwork when authorised.
  • Ensure high standard of workmanship, safety and housekeeping.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and formwork.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as a shuttering carpenter is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional timber and system formwork.
  • Ability to work accurately from drawings and instructions.
  • Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates.
  • MEWP, Working at Heights, Abrasive Wheels & Hotworks training all advantageous.
  • Good understanding of construction site health and safety requirements.
  • Reliable, punctual and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Own tools reflected in rate paid.
