The Operations Manager will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and fulfilment business.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational discipline, excellent people management skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
The successful candidate will drive accountability, improve communication across departments, implement robust operating procedures, and ensure the business is capable of scaling efficiently while maintaining service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Manage all daily warehouse and fulfilment operations.
- Ensure all customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Oversee goods-in, goods-out, inventory control, returns management and container unloading.
- Monitor operational performance and service levels.
- Develop and implement operational KPIs and reporting structures.
Team Management
- Lead, coach and develop warehouse and fulfilment staff.
- Create a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
- Manage staffing levels, productivity and performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of operational staff.
Customer Service & Account Management
- Act as the operational escalation point for key customers.
- Ensure customer issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Improve communication and transparency with clients.
- Build confidence with customers through consistent delivery and service standards.
Process Improvement
- Review and improve warehouse processes and workflows.
- Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions.
- Drive efficiency improvements across warehousing and fulfilment activities.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of warehouse management systems.
Inventory & Warehouse Control
- Ensure inventory accuracy and stock integrity.
- Conduct cycle counts and stock audits.
- Optimise warehouse layout and storage utilisation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and reporting.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety reviews and risk assessments.

Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse, logistics, fulfilment or distribution management.
- Proven experience managing operational teams.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience implementing operational processes and controls.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and customer relationship management skills.
- Experience working with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes.
- Commercial awareness and ability to support business growth.
Desirable
- Experience within ecommerce fulfilment or third-party logistics (3PL).
- Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience.
- Experience managing business growth and operational scaling.
