Full job description

The Village Barn is an alternative wedding and events venue in the heart of the Midlands. We are currently recruiting for someone to join our team as our Social Media & Content Creator.

Initially this role will be a part time position, 20 hours a week, but with the right candidate it has the potential to grow into a full-time position.

We are looking for someone who can capture the atmosphere of our weddings and events here at The Barn, tell the stories behind them, and create content that people genuinely enjoy watching. While the role will be based in The Village Barn in Tyrrellspass, you may be required from time to time to travel to other sites in the Midlands with our sister companies, David Smyth Catering & Tyrrellspass Hardware

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Managing all social media for The Village Barn
  • Capture photo and video content from real weddings and events
  • Create engaging reels/stories and social media content that reflects the personality of The Village Barn
  • Plan, edit and schedule content across our social media platforms
  • Keep up with social media trends and bring fresh ideas to the table
  • Respond to messages and general enquiries across our social media platforms
  • You may be required to help with marketing for our sister companies - David Smyth Catering & Tyrrellspass Hardware
  • Assist with general office administration, including responding to wedding enquiries and from time to time showing couples around the venue/helping on site with events
  • Carry out other ad hoc duties as required
  • This role will regularly consist of evening and weekend work

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for social media and content creation
  • Someone who is creative, full of ideas and has a great eye for detail
  • Confident using social media platforms and comfortable learning new apps and technology
  • Experience creating photo and video content for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Friendly, outgoing and confident chatting with couples, guests and suppliers
  • Comfortable working as part of a team but equally happy using your own initiative
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • A full driver's licence and access to a car is essential
  • Previous experience in social media/marketing/content creation essential
