Health and Social Care Assistant (OT, SLT, PT)

Childrens Disability Network Team

Kilbarrack and Coastal CDNT have positions.

Expression of interest for part time and full time posts will be considered.

These are exciting opportunities for Health and Social Care Assistants (also known as Therapy Assistants) to support the childrens disability network teams. Health and Social Care assistants currently have an established role in the work of the teams, supporting children and their families.

The successful candidate must have the following:

Essential Criteria

  • Possess a relevant health skills QQI Level 5 qualification (formerly FETAC) having achieved the associated Level 5 minor awards in:

o Physiotherapy Assistant Theory and Physiotherapy Assistant Practice or

o Occupational Therapy Assistant Theory and Occupational Therapy Assistant Practice or

o Speech and Language Assistant Theory and Speech and Language Assistant Practice

(at Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

  • Knowledge and understanding of childrens disability services.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working in a clinical service
  • Experience working directly with child/ young persons to develop life skills to support overall wellbeing.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Full clean driving licence and use of a car.
  • Experience of digital healthcare records and databases.

Salary Scales will be in line with the HSE Health and Social Care Assistant consolidated pay scale

  • Salary Scale: Point 1 36651 -Point 9 45,939
  • Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above
