Control Room Operator – Full Time, Permanent

Top Security is currently recruiting Control Room Operators to join our professional team at our Dublin-based 24-hour Alarm Monitoring Station, located at our head office in Ballymount.

This role may particularly suit mature applicants who bring strong communication skills, sound judgement, reliability, and strong geographical knowledge of Ireland. If you enjoy working in a structured environment, can remain calm under pressure, and take pride in providing an important support service, we would like to hear from you.

The Role

As part of a busy and supportive control room team, you will:

  • Monitor and respond to incoming alarms and emergency activations across a nationwide customer network.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, emergency services, mobile personnel, and colleagues.
  • Accurately record and relay information in a fast-paced environment.
  • Use computer-based monitoring and communication systems.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure the smooth running of a 24-hour operation.

Due to the nationwide nature of the monitoring service, good geographical knowledge of Ireland is important to ensure accurate communication and effective coordination of responses.

Working Hours

This position operates on a rotating roster covering days, nights, and weekends.

Shifts are 12 hours in duration, with weekly hours typically consisting of:

  • 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts), or
  • 48 hours per week (4 x 12-hour shifts).

Applicants should be fully aware that the role includes regular night shifts and weekend work as part of the roster.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who:

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Are calm, clear, and accurate when dealing with information.
  • Have good geographical knowledge of Ireland.
  • Are comfortable using computer systems and software packages.
  • Have a strong customer service focus.
  • Are dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance.
  • Have fluent English.

Previous experience in a control room, customer service, call handling, security, logistics, transport coordination, or emergency response environment would be an advantage, but is not essential. Full in-house training will be provided to successful candidates.

Benefits

  • Full training provided.
  • Permanent full-time position.
  • On-site parking.
  • Opportunity to develop valuable specialist skills within a professional team environment.
