We have a new opening for a Senior Manufacturing Data Analyst
Reports to
Site Manager
Location County Laois
Role Purpose
The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for delivering advanced data-driven insights that support operational performance, strategic decision-making, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement across the business. This role focuses on transforming complex operational and business data into clear, actionable insights that enable leaders to make informed decisions. Beyond routine reporting, the Senior Data Analyst leads advanced analysis, enhances performance visibility, improves data quality and governance, and develops scalable reporting solutions that drive business performance.
The position will work closely with operational, commercial and support functions, the role plays a key part in identifying trends, uncovering opportunities, improving efficiency, and supporting evidence-based decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Analysis & Business Reporting

  • Lead analysis of operational and business performance across key metrics including productivity, quality, service, financial performance, customer outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Design, develop and continuously improve KPI frameworks, dashboards, scorecards and management reporting.
  • Produce meaningful insights through trend analysis, forecasting, scenario modelling and predictive analytics.
  • Identify performance gaps, quantify opportunities and provide recommendations to improve business outcomes.

Business Insight & Decision Support

  • Partner with business leaders to provide analytical support for operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Support root cause analysis and structured problem-solving using robust data analysis.
  • Validate business improvement initiatives by measuring performance before and after implementation.
  • Identify recurring issues, emerging trends and opportunities through advanced analytics.

Operational & Commercial Analytics

  • Analyse operational performance, resource utilisation, productivity, efficiency and cost drivers.
  • Evaluate financial and operational data to identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting and capacity planning through data-driven analysis.
  • Monitor key business indicators and provide early identification of potential risks or performance issues.
  • Develop analytical models that support improved operational and commercial decision-making.

Data Management & Reporting Solutions

  • Extract, interpret and analyse data from multiple business systems, databases and reporting platforms.
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity, consistency and governance.
  • Develop automated reporting solutions using Power BI, Excel, SQL and other business intelligence tools.
  • Reduce manual reporting through automation, process improvement and dashboard development.
  • Support self-service reporting capabilities while maintaining robust data controls.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a trusted business partner, providing objective, commercially focused analytical support.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear business insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Present findings confidently to senior stakeholders and support data-led decision-making.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across Operations, Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, HR, IT and other business functions.
  • Promote data literacy and encourage evidence-based decision-making throughout the organisation.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Advanced Power BI, Tableau or equivalent data visualisation expertise.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
  • Excellent understanding of KPI development, reporting methodologies and performance measurement.
  • Ability to analyse large, complex datasets and communicate findings clearly.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to link analysis to business performance.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience developing dashboards, automated reporting and business intelligence solutions.
  • High levels of initiative, accountability and sound judgement.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience preferably within manufacturing or another regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in advanced operational analysis, KPI reporting, and supporting leadership decision-making.
  • Proven experience in identifying losses, trends, and improvement opportunities through structured data analysis.
  • Advanced Power BI, SQL or manufacturing analytics experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical findings to senior stakeholders.
