Main Purpose of the Job:

The successful individual is responsible for all aspects of our fresh food performance, including the sales, profitability, waste, and quality of all products, displays, and customer service. The candidate must communicate to the deli team any changes to the range, offers and new initiatives. The candidate must meet all food safety requirements in accordance with Food Safety Regulations and the Store’s policies and procedures.

Relevant Skills/Experience:

· Minimum 1 years’ fresh food deli management experience;

· Minimum 2 years' experience in a role with strong exposure to fresh food;

· Experience in successfully achieving sales targets and KPI's which have been set out by the management;

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word);

· Numerical skills required;

· Experience in gross profit and margins desirable;

· The candidate must be fully HACCP and food safety trained, and has experience in meeting the HACCP and food safety requirements.

· Must have experience in ordering for deli departments and managing waste within a fresh food department;

· Ability to roster and adhere to budgets;

· Excellent communication skills;

· Work as part of a team and give leadership and coach employees;

· Have a true passion for the food industry and as such be creative and innovative with the fresh offering;

· A customer focused manager who can build a quality and loyal customer base;

· The ability to inspire, lead and motivate employees through support and development.

Main Duties:

1. Prepare presentation and layout of the deli serve over daily;

2. Ensure the minimisation of waste and shrink in the department;

3. Ensure the scale codes and pricing are correct at all times and have knowledge of common coding;

4. Ensure all employees in the department are trained correctly on the weighing scales and portion control;

5. Bring new ideas to the department on fresh food innovation through regular research and benchmarking against competitors;

6. Demonstrate your passion for quality food by sharing knowledge, recipes and personal recommendations with shoppers;

7. Responsible for KPIs such as sales, margin, waste management, pricing and promotional displays;

8. Implement planograms correctly and ensure the correct range is in place in store;

9. Adhere to opening and closing procedures of the deli;

10. Train all new employees to the deli on the food, operations and service;

11. Ensure duties and functions of employees are carried out effectively and efficiently, providing employee feedback on a regular basis;

12 Always wear full uniform, name badge, hairnet, safety shoes and display a neat appearance at all times;

13. Have a strong working knowledge of relevant legislation as it pertains to the Store, in particular but not limited to, Food Safety regulations, Health & Safety regulations and employment legislation;

14. Ensure Store policies and procedures are adhered to at all times;

15. Attend management meetings and hold employee huddles regularly;

16. Effectively performance manage employees as required;

17. Ensuring all HACCP best practices are implemented across the department;

18. Achieve Emerald status in EIQA;

19. Be aware of and adhere to Health & Safety Regulations relevant to your department and notify any breaches to management;

20. Set and manage weekly rosters;

21. Engage with new initiatives and embrace new ways of working;

22. Motivate and engage all employees and continuously enhance team culture;

Pay: €35,000.00-€38,000.00 per year
