Advanced Healthcare Assistant - Full-Time Role

At Bluebird Care Limerick, we are growing our team and are seeking experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Advanced Healthcare Assistants to provide exceptional care and support to clients in their own homes.

As an Advanced Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering person centred care, supporting client independence, and mentoring colleagues and new team members are required.

Essential Requiremets

  • QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support, or an Equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Full Availability including weekends
  • Minimum 3 years' professional experience in home care, community care, residential care, or a healthcare setting
  • Full Valid EU/EEA Licence.
  • Access to own Car
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong clinical awareness
  • Reliability, attendance and Punctuality

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care tailored to individual client needs.
  • Support clients with personal care, mobility, nutrition, medication prompting, and daily living activities.
  • Promote clients' independence, dignity, and wellbeing in their own homes.
  • Monitor, record, and report changes in clients' physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with care managers, nurses, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure a safe environment by following infection prevention, PPE, and moving & handling procedures.
  • Support clients with complex care needs and escalate concerns when appropriate.
  • Mentor and support new carers through shadowing, induction, and sharing best practice.
  • Assist with competency observations, feedback, and identifying training needs.
  • Promote positive communication between carers and the office team.
  • Support new client starts and uphold company policies, values, and care standards.
