Job Title: CCTV Analyst (part-time)

Based: Northwest Business Park, Dublin (with travel to depots/sites as required)

Reporting to: CCTV and IT Supervisor

Purpose: To support the investigation and resolution of incidents, claims, internal investigations, criminal activity, and other occurrences involving company vehicles, employees, customers, and premises through the effective retrieval, review, analysis, and preservation of CCTV evidence. The role is responsible for ensuring all relevant footage is identified and secured in a timely manner, while liaising with internal stakeholders and external agencies, including An Garda Síochána, insurance providers, local authorities, and regulatory bodies, to assist investigations and support legal, operational, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• To investigate all incidents, insurance claims, public complaints, occurrences, and criminal acts across the GAI network, using CCTV and other means (desk-top investigations), taking appropriate action where necessary.
• Accurately update and maintain the internal reporting system of all types of investigations that may have been captured on CCTV to ensure consistent reporting to GAI departments, Gardai, Local Authorities, NTA, etc.
• Where necessary, present the findings of all types of investigations using the appropriate means to Company Managers, Gardai, Court, NTA and other authorised bodies for action.
• Conduct CCTV system health checks, ensuring all cameras are working and arrange repairs as appropriate.
• Liaise with suppliers when errors or faults are found to organise a quick resolution.
• Attend the scene of an incident where applicable and facilitate the removal of CCTV from a company vehicle as instructed by a GAI Manager or the Gardai.
• Facilitate and manage all contact with the Gardai for CCTV requests and general enquiries.
• Review and redact CCTV footage in accordance with GDPR and company procedures.
• Adhere to the CCTV policy, ensuring data obtained is as per our retention guidelines.
• Support the IT Supervisor with requests where applicable.
• Support the Risk and Compliance Manager with new technology or introduced programmes to prevent further incidents and assist with training.
• To maintain and enforce company policies and procedures, including Dignity in the Workplace, Drugs and Alcohol, Discipline and Grievance etc., for staff reporting to them.
• To ensure that all colleagues comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act requirements, Company Health and Safety policy and other current legislation.
• To foster effective working relationships with various bodies, including SIPTU, local authorities, NTA, Gardai, other transport companies, Community Groups etc.
• Any other reasonable duties as directed by senior management that lies within the scope of the jobholder’s responsibilities.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Essential

• Previous experience reviewing, analysing, and retrieving CCTV or other digital video evidence.
• Knowledge of CCTV management systems and digital evidence handling processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, assess, and accurately record relevant information.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Experience producing clear, factual, and accurate reports.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement when prioritising tasks.
• Understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements relating to CCTV footage and personal data.
• Full clean driver’s licence

Desirable

Competencies, desirable traits or attributes:

• Experience working within the public transport, security, law enforcement, insurance, or investigations sectors.
• Experience supporting incident investigations, insurance claims, complaints, or disciplinary investigations.
• Familiarity with GDPR and CCTV-related compliance requirements.
• Experience liaising with external stakeholders, including An Garda Síochána, insurance companies, solicitors, or regulatory bodies.
