Finance Analyst – Qualified Accountant

About The Role

We are seeking a technically minded Qualified Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong financial expertise with technology, data and process improvement.

The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis and business decision-making, while also helping us improve how we use our finance systems, data, automation and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and financial performance.
  • Provide meaningful analysis of revenue, costs, margins and key business KPIs.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
  • Prepare financial information and analysis for senior management and the Board.
  • Investigate financial variances and provide clear commercial insights.
  • Work with large datasets and develop efficient reporting using Excel combined with other efficient analytical tools.
  • Work with customer onboarding flow to ensure smooth and efficient set up to trading process of new customers.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve efficiency of repetitive finance processes and reporting and improve controls.
  • Application of AI, automation and emerging technologies within the finance function.
  • Assist with year-end audit, tax compliance and statutory reporting.
  • Work closely with teams across the business to provide financial and commercial support.
  • Participate in wider finance and business improvement projects.

This role would suit a qualified accountant who wants to develop beyond a traditional finance position.

You will have the opportunity to influence how the finance function develops, improve reporting and systems, introduce greater automation and help shape how technology and AI are used within the business.

It is an ideal role for someone who is commercially minded, curious about technology and enjoys improving how things work.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) who is comfortable working with both numbers and technology.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong financial accounting and management accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
  • A strong interest in technology, systems, automation and AI.
  • An ability to understand how systems and data flow across a business.
  • Strong attention to detail while also being able to see the bigger commercial picture.
  • The ability to turn financial information into clear, practical insights.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to challenge existing processes and find better ways of working.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with both financial and non-financial colleagues.

Experience with Power BI, SQL, financial systems, data analytics or process automation tools would be advantageous but is not essential.
