Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with experience in production accounting or a strong background in financial management?
Our client, a well-established organisation within the creative sector, is seeking a Production Accountant to take ownership of the financial management of multiple projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team where you'll play a key role in budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and supporting successful project delivery.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you'll enjoy a hybrid working model with the autonomy to manage your workload while working closely with producers and key stakeholders.
This role is predominately working from home and requires being in the office for meetings a few times per month only.
It is 30 hours over 4 days but open to 30 hours over 5 days if needed.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and monitor production budgets across multiple projects.
- Track actual expenditure against budget, identifying risks and preparing monthly cost reports and forecasts.
- Oversee cash flow, payment schedules, and payroll for production teams.
- Prepare financial reports for producers and external funding partners.
- Take full ownership of the accounting function for designated production entities, maintaining accurate financial records from transaction processing through to trial balance.
- Work closely with department heads to ensure financial accuracy and appropriate approvals.
- Manage Section 481 tax credit applications and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Prepare final production cost reports and coordinate project audits.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with Irish regulations.
- Process payroll, ensuring full compliance with Irish payroll legislation and reporting deadlines.
- Support the wider finance team across multiple entities, including intercompany reconciliations and group reporting activities.
We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and capable of working independently while maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will ideally have:
- Part-qualified Accountant or strong Accounts assistant with experience desirable
- Previous production accounting experience within animation, film, television, or a similar project-based environment (highly desirable).
- Experience managing the full accounting cycle independently.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and cash flow management.
- Experience preparing VAT returns and processing payroll within an Irish regulatory environment.
- Exposure to working across multiple entities and supporting group accounting activities.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with production accounting software would be an advantage.
If you're looking for a role where you can combine strong financial expertise with an exciting project-based environment, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today for a confidential discussion.
