Job title: General Assistant/Homework Club assistant

Location: Abbeyleix Direct Provision Centre

Reports to: Centre Manager

Job type: 19 hours per week

Availability: 3-7pm Monday to Friday

Start date: 14/09/2026

Suitable for:

Anyone seeking part-time work

Lone working position at times

Welcome any guests to the centre and treat each resident/visitor/team member with equality, dignity and respect, being cultural sensitive at all times

Support all residents with educational needs, including a homework club for younger children

Establish and maintain relationships based on respect and equality

Liaise with management if residents have any requests

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, removal of bins, and vacuuming of residential areas as required

Complete any relevant paperwork

Abide by all centre policies and work in line with the national standards.

Driving licence preferred

Complete training as required

Job Type: Part-time
