Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a suitably skilled Level 2 Support / Technical Support to join their team. The duration of this post is 12 months initially with possible extensions thereafter. This role will be based in the Dublin / South East region. The team is seeking a candidate with strong hands-on technical experience, who is confident engaging with clients in person and has previously worked in a similar role.
Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €32.02 per hour based on an annualised salary of €58,477. You will accrue 30 days annual leave per year and paid Bank Holidays.
Candidates will be expected to work fully onsite for the first few weeks after which hybrid working is to be agreed once the period of induction has been completed. Hybrid working will consist of 3 days in the office and two days at home. However, because of the role, flexibility is required as some weeks may need more onsite presence and travel within the region.
**Applicants must have access to a car and hold a full driving licence as travel will be involved within the region.**
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide ICT support services by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in line with agreed procedures, processes, and service standards.
- Ensure all work activities are accurately logged and maintained, and produce clear, professional technical documentation and reports as required.
- Support the delivery of ICT projects by carrying out technical tasks to the agreed scope, quality standards and timelines with strong attention to detail.
- Work with service teams and the Project Manager to support the achievement of agreed business outcomes and project objectives.
- Support the management of technical aspects of internal and external supplier and vendor relationships, including monitoring service delivery and performance levels as required.
- Act as a technical point of contact within assigned workstreams and with stakeholders, explaining technical issues clearly to non-technical backgrounds.
- Provide advice and support to Project Team members to enable the effective execution of assigned workstream tasks.
- Identify technical issues and project risks, escalating complex matters to senior staff or relevant teams, and keeping line management informed of emerging issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
- To be familiar with, and to comply with local policies and procedures.
- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant ICT regulations, standards, data protection and guidelines applicable to the role.
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge and experience in IT support, technical troubleshooting or service delivery.
- Strong ICT proficiency and excellent computer skills particularly Microsoft Office, Outlook etc.
- Experience using computer technology effectively for the management and delivery of results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with different stakeholders and take ownership of agreed objectives.
- A track record of delivering high quality customer service for internal and external users.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with great attention to detail.
- Strong planning and organising skills.
