Haven Connect is recruiting on behalf of a leading Irish construction and engineering firm delivering commercial, residential, pharmaceutical, and infrastructure projects internationally.
This is a senior leadership role based at Head Office in Waterford, responsible for secure, reliable and efficient IT services across multiple project locations.
The Role
The IT Manager will lead the delivery of IT infrastructure, cyber security, service management and business continuity across head office and live construction sites.
This role has full responsibility for maintaining and continuously improving the company’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) in line with ISO/IEC 27001 requirements, while ensuring stable and secure business-critical systems.
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this is a key operational leadership position within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities IT Governance & Security
- Maintain and enhance the Information Security Management System (ISMS)
- Manage cyber security risks, controls and mitigation actions
- Oversee IT policies, procedures and governance frameworks
- Coordinate internal and external audits, including ISO compliance
- Report IT risks and incidents to senior leadership
Infrastructure & Operations
- Manage IT infrastructure across head office, cloud platforms and site locations
- Ensure secure connectivity and system performance
- Oversee IT setup and deployment for new construction sites
- Maintain endpoint protection, network security and device standards
Service Delivery & Access Control
- Lead IT support across all business locations
- Control user access, permissions and authentication
- Manage onboarding, role changes and offboarding
- Lead incident response and corrective actions
Business Continuity
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery systems
- Conduct recovery testing and resilience planning
- Protect sensitive business data through secure controls
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Manage IT vendors, telecom providers and licensing
- Ensure third-party providers meet security standards
- Control third-party access to systems
Leadership
- Lead and develop the IT function
- Promote secure working practices across office and site teams
- Deliver user awareness training in cyber security and IT controls
Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT management
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services and cyber security
- Experience managing multi-site environments (construction exposure advantageous)
- ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor certification desirable
- Strong leadership, accountability and risk-based decision-making

Eligibility
