Job Title: Ward Clerk
Location: Mullingar, Co. Westmeath
Contract Type: Temporary Agency Contract
Salary: €17.31 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting a Ward Clerk to join a busy team in Mullingar. The purpose of this role is to provide essential clerical and administrative support to the ward, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain patient records in a timely, accurate, and comprehensive manner, ensuring they are available when required.

Track, input, and update all patient records and information consistently.

Ensure the bed management system corresponds accurately with daily ward layout.

Book ambulance transport for patients attending appointments and discharges.

Manage patient discharge letters, forwarding them to GPs and filing them in patient charts.

Handle post collection and distribution to relevant departments.

Answer telephones and respond to queries in a professional manner.

Perform general office duties including typing, photocopying, filing, and folder management.

Record patient admissions and discharges daily, ensuring data accuracy.

Maintain confidentiality and compliance with GDPR at all times.
Requirements
-
Previous clerical/administrative experience is essential.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Previous healthcare administration experience is an advantage.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

High attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
-
Immediate availability desirable.
