THE OPPORTUNITY

Teamworx is looking for a commercially driven General Manager to lead its clients busy venue . This is a role for someone who knows how to grow a business, not just run it. You will own the P&L, drive sales and margin, and lead a team that delivers great service every day.

You will be hands-on and visible on the floor, while keeping a firm grip on the numbers that make a bar profitable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial and P&L

  • Full ownership of the venue P&L, with weekly reporting on sales, GP, wages and controllable costs.

  • Drive sales growth through pricing, promotions, events and increasing spend per head.

  • Deliver GP targets on food and drink through menu engineering, supplier terms and tight stock control.

  • Manage wage costs by building rosters around trading patterns and demand.

  • Set budgets and forecasts with the owner, and report against them.

Leading the business

  • Lead from the floor, setting the standard for service and the customer experience.

  • Recruit, train and develop the team, and build a strong management structure underneath you.

  • Grow local and visitor trade through events, live music, group bookings, social media and community links.

  • Build loyalty and repeat visits, and protect and grow online reviews.

Operations and compliance

  • Put clear systems and routines in place so standards are consistent on every shift.

  • Manage stock, ordering, cash control and supplier relationships.

  • Ensure full compliance with licensing, health and safety, HACCP and food safety, and responsible serving of alcohol.

ABOUT YOU

Essential

  • At least 3 years as a General Manager, or a senior manager in a high-volume bar or bar and restaurant.

  • A proven track record of driving business growth, with sales figures to back it up.

  • Strong commercial awareness, with hands-on P&L ownership and a clear understanding of margins, GP and wage control.

  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and reporting to owners or senior management.

  • A visible, hands-on leader who motivates teams and holds them to high standards.

  • Solid knowledge of Irish licensing, health and safety, and food safety requirements.

Desirable

  • Experience in a suburban or destination venue with food, drink and events.

  • A background in a pub group or multi-site operation.

  • Experience with EPOS, stock management and rota systems.

  • Knowledge of the Bray, Wicklow and south Dublin market.

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • GP% on food and drink

  • Wage percentage

  • Average spend per head

  • Online review scores and customer feedback

  • Staff retention and audit results

PACKAGE

  • Competitive base salary, depending on experience

  • Performance bonus linked to sales, GP and wage targets

  • Pension contribution

  • Meals on duty and staff discount
