Full job description
Experienced ED/Minor Injuries Registrars required to work in our Minor Injuries Department. Excellent rates of pay and benefits.
Role of Minor Injuries Registrar
Roles and responsibilities
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Evaluate patients, gather information about their injury, and order or interpret diagnostic tests e.g. x-rays
- Treatment: Provide appropriate treatment for injuries, which may include suspected bony and soft tissue injury, minor scans and burns. Wound care, splinting, reducing dislocations, or applying casts.
- Referral: Refer patients to other healthcare providers or specialized services when necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient encounters and treatment.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with information about their injury, treatment plan, and recovery.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Medical Degree: A qualified medical doctor with a current Irish Medical Council (IMC) registration.
- Emergency Medicine Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Emergency Medicine, including 1 year at Registrar level.
- Certifications: Current certifications in ACLS and BLS
Additional Skills and Attributes:
- Clinical Judgment: You must be able to demonstrate the ability to assess and manage a range of minor injuries and illnesses effectively.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Flexibility: Be able to adapt to changing circumstances and patient needs
