Full job description

The Monks Well & Pantry only opened in 2025 and is a party and events focussed bar, with weekly live music and a true community spirit in everything we do. In less than 18 months since opening we have already have received multiple awards, with the most recent nomination for our bar food offering.

With recent planning permission granted to allow for expansion and a 30 space car park, we are looking for a food service manager who can help with our continued growth, bring professionalise our banquet dining offering in the Monks Barn and bring new ideas to the table.

The role will focus on the overall food service across the cafe, bar and events in the Monks Barn.

The cafe offers hearty breakfasts, and light bites from 8am to 3pm 6 days a week, and the pub opens only Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday offering our rectangular romana style pizza which has been a big hit so far and an array of burgers, wings and Irish tapas.

We already have an enthusiastic and reliable team in the cafe, bar and the kitchen and there is a great team work ethic throughout.

The ideal candidate will have a positive can-do attitude, warm personality, be reliable, and a good sense of humour - we work hard and we play hard too, so being able to have the craic while getting the work done is key.

Desired: A flair for events coordination, and some imagination around room decor is a plus but not a requirement.

Desired: Experience on promotional work on social media is also a plus but not a requirement.

The role is a hands-on role with duties including but not limited to:

Leading by example across:

- Continuing existing procedures and processes to ensure a high quality and timely customer service experience.

- Continuing consistent food service and quality control

- Continuing to enhance menus and events with the chef and pub manager.

- Gathering customer feedback and continuous improvement on menus, ingredients and service.
