About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounts Assistantto support the financial operations of the Central Societies Committee (CSC) within Trinity College Dublin.
This role plays an important part in supporting the financial administration of over 120 student societies. You will work closely with the Accounts Administrator to ensure accurate bookkeeping, timely reporting, and efficient financial processes across a busy and varied portfolio.
The position is ideal for someone with finance or accounting experience who enjoys working in a dynamic, student-focused environment and is comfortable managing a wide range of administrative and financial tasks.
Key Responsibilities
You will support the Accounts Administrator in the following areas:

Day-to-day financial administration and bookkeeping tasks

Bank account set-up and maintenance for student societies
-
Recording and processing membership subscription income
-
Managing CSC grant decisions and financial records for societies
-
Processing supplier payments and reimbursements
-
Maintaining accurate records in Sage accounting software
-
Supporting accounts payable and receivable processes
-
Assisting with credit card management and oversight
-
Supporting debit card usage and reconciliation
-
Reviewing and verifying society receipts prior to reimbursement
-
Responding to queries relating to grants, banking, memberships, and financial records
-
Assisting with reporting and data management across financial systems
About You
Essential Requirements
-
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
-
2–4 years’ experience in a finance, bookkeeping, or accounts-related role
-
Experience using Sage accounting software
-
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets
-
Strong numerical and administrative skills
-
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Experience

Experience working with student organisations or not-for-profit environments

Experience working with large datasets and complex spreadsheets

Ability to explain financial processes to non-financial stakeholders

Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
Working Arrangements
This is a part time role with the Central Societies Committee (CSC), the organisation responsible for supporting and overseeing Trinity College Dublin's student societies. While the CSC works closely with Trinity College Dublin, it is a separate employer. As such, this position is not part of the University's employment framework and does not include Trinity College Dublin's pension scheme or employee benefits. However, the role offers an excellent work-life balance, including seasonal office closures during University holiday periods. The position is based on site in Trinity College Dublin on a working year of approximately 38 weeks.
Working hours will typically be scheduled across 2–3 days per week during normal business hours from 10am to 5pm and will be agreed in advance.
