Job Title: Project Technical Engineer

Distag QCS is a leading provider of components and solutions to Original Equipment Manufacturers & Distributors. We specialize in Trailer Parts, OEM Bespoke Components, Hydraulic Systems & Power Transmission components.

Job Description:

As a Project Technical Engineer at Distag QCS, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between Supplier, Customer and internal Distag Sales, Purchasing and Technical Teams, developing new products & working on various projects mainly within our OEM Bespoke Team.

You will collaborate closely with our supplier base to ensure they uphold the highest standards of product quality and performance, whilst receiving requests from our Sales team on various projects to develop new products and improve existing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Procurement, Engineering & Quality assurance to ensure alignment on supplier requirements, specifications, and expectations.
  • Project Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and budgets for new product development projects. Coordinate activities across cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and quality assurance, to ensure timely and successful project execution.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support and expertise to internal teams and customers during the product development process and after product launch. Address technical inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Non-Conformance Management. Resolve non-conformance projects by collaboration with internal teams, suppliers and customer.
  • Continuous Supplier Improvement: Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing supplier capabilities, reducing costs, and improving overall product quality and reliability. Collaborate with suppliers to implement best practices and drive process optimization.
  • Supplier Development: Provide guidance and support to suppliers to help them improve their processes, capabilities, and performance.
  • Professional Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in new product development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in either -Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders & customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to customers. Supplier visits in China & India are not required but desired.
