English Language Teacher – CEC International Summer Junior Camp

CEC - Cork English College is one of Ireland’s leading English language schools, with over 45 years of experience in the EFL sector. CEC is recognised by ACELS (a service of QQI) for English Language Teaching and is a full member of MEI, Quality English, and EAQUALS. We are proud to have been named Best Language School at the Irish Education Awards in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

We are now seeking enthusiastic and energetic English Language Teachers to join our teaching team for our International Summer Junior Schools in July 2026.

Programme Overview

Our junior summer schools run throughout July 2026 across two campuses:

  • Douglas Community School
  • Munster Technological University (MTU)

Teachers work within a well-established curriculum, with all lesson plans and materials provided, and are fully supported by an experienced academic management team.

Contract details:

  • Duration: 1 month
  • Hours: 15–30 teaching hours per week

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons using the provided syllabus and resources
  • Follow all school procedures as outlined in the CEC Teacher Manual
  • Complete attendance registers, lesson reports, and student end-of-course reports
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure an integrated academic and activity programme
  • Participate in and support the activity and excursion programme
  • Guide students positively and enthusiastically during trips and activities
  • Encourage active student participation by leading through example
  • Prioritise student and staff health and safety at all times

Teaching at CEC

Our summer junior programme combines structured classroom learning with immersive activities and excursions, giving students the opportunity to use English in real-life, enjoyable contexts. We aim to deliver lessons that are fun, motivating, and responsive to students’ individual learning needs.

Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and further develop your teaching skills in a dynamic, professional environment.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A primary degree (NFQ Level 7 or equivalent)
  • A recognised TEFL qualification (Cambridge CELTA, Trinity TESOL, ACELS CELT, or equivalent)
  • Online-only qualifications are not accepted
  • Qualified primary or secondary teachers must have completed a TEFL (SQT) course
  • Legal entitlement to work in Ireland / EU
  • Garda Vetting (or willingness to obtain)
  • Completion of TUSLA Child Protection Training
  • Availability to work July 2025
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to motivate young learners
  • Strong teamwork skills and a positive, “can-do” attitude
