Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Part-Time Sales Assistant to join our Sports Direct store in Castlebar, Ireland. In this role, you will be at the heart of our retail operation, delivering exceptional customer service whilst supporting the sales team to achieve store targets. The successful candidate will be friendly, supportive, and passionate about helping customers find the right products for their sporting needs.

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering enquiries, and offering product recommendations • Process transactions accurately using the till system and handle cash and card payments • Maintain product displays and ensure the store is clean, organised, and well-stocked • Assist with stock management, including receiving, checking, and labelling merchandise
• Support the sales team in achieving store targets through effective upselling and cross-selling techniques • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary • Comply with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and loss prevention procedures • Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues and supporting store operations

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner • Strong communication and people skills • Ability to work effectively as part of a team • Good time keeping and reliability • Attention to detail and organisational abilities
• Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures • Previous retail or customer-facing experience (desirable) • Knowledge of sports products or retail environment (desirable) • Flexibility to work part-time hours, including potential weekend and evening shifts
