Full job description

Job Title: Transcriptionist

Purpose of the Role

To provide accurate, confidential and timely transcription services for legal, medico-legal, medical and professional clients. The Transcriptionist will convert audio recordings, dictated material and other source documents into written format while maintaining high standards of quality, professionalism and data security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe audio recordings, dictation and other source material accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare, format and proofread documents in accordance with company and client requirements.
  • Ensure all work is completed within agreed deadlines.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client information and documentation.
  • Follow company policies, procedures and quality standards.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues, supervisors and clients as required.
  • Report any issues affecting quality, deadlines or service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed where required.
  • Comply with all applicable data protection, confidentiality and information security requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent English language, grammar, spelling and punctuation skills.
  • Strong typing and keyboard skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Good listening and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
  • Competent use of transcription software, Microsoft Suite and other relevant technology.
  • Experience in legal transcription is essential.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

Due to the nature of the work, the employee must maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and comply with all company policies and procedures relating to confidentiality, information security and data protection, including obligations under applicable Irish and European data protection legislation.

Reporting To

The Transcriptionist shall report to such manager or supervisor as may be designated by the Company from time to time.

Pay: €32,000.00-€37,000.00 per year
