Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver to join our steel fabrication team in Dublin 12. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of fabricated steel products, raw materials, and associated goods to customer sites throughout Dublin and surrounding counties. The role also involves assisting with loading, unloading, and maintaining high standards of customer service and health & safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver fabricated steel products and materials to customer sites safely and on time.
  • Load and unload steel sections, fabricated products, and accessories using appropriate lifting equipment.
  • Secure loads in accordance with road safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance issues.
  • Plan delivery routes to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
  • Obtain customer signatures and complete delivery documentation accurately.
  • Assist warehouse and fabrication staff with loading, unloading, and stock movements when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of company vehicles.
  • Follow all company Health & Safety policies, including manual handling procedures.
  • Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers and suppliers.
  • Carry out other duties as reasonably assigned by management.

Essential Requirements

  • Full clean Category B driving licence (Category C licence is an advantage if driving larger vehicles).
  • Previous delivery driving experience, preferably within the steel, engineering, construction, or manufacturing industry.
  • Good knowledge of Dublin and surrounding areas.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling and lifting.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Manual Handling Certificate.
  • Safe Pass.
  • Forklift licence (Counterbalance or Combi-lift experience desirable).
  • Experience transporting long or heavy materials such as structural steel.
  • Driver CPC (required if operating vehicles that require it).
