The Role: Varied, Hands-On & Rewarding

This is a full-time position (39 hours across 5 days) with a rotating 1 in 3 weekend rota Shifts are rota based, scheduled between the working hours of 8am-7pm You'll have opportunities across surgical and medical caseloads - rotatetd weekly ensuring a varied and exciting caseload.

You’ll be actively involved in:

  • Surgical and theatre nursing
  • Medical and clinical care
  • Inpatient monitoring and recovery
  • Dentistry and radiography
  • Laboratory diagnostics
  • Infection control and dispensary management
  • Client communication and education

You’ll be trusted with genuine responsibility, while always supported by an experienced and collaborative team. Whether you're building confidence or expanding your expertise, you’ll be encouraged to develop at your own pace and truly feel part of the practice.


About the Practice

Southview Veterinary Hospital, established in 2003, has a long-standing history of treating small and large animals with a variety of ailments and injuries. Our practice has evolved greatly to keep up with the ever-advancing veterinary technology and services. We use high quality equipment to aid us in diagnosing, treating and managing any issue that may arise throughout the life of a pet or farm animal.

Our phenomenal team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Veterinary Nurses and 6 support staff are continuously advancing their own professional knowledge to allow our patients to benefit from the latest veterinary advancements and techniques. We offer specialty services in Ultrasonography, Canine Physiotherapy and Orthopaedics. Our state-of-the-art hydrotherapy suite is run by our resident Veterinary Physiotherapist. We work closely with Paws and local TNR charities daily.

Our Tipperary practice is an hour from Cork, Limerick and Waterford cities with the Blueway cycle track and beautiful river Suir nearby.


About You

We are looking for a veterinary nurse who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive team environment. You will either be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland or due to qualify in 2026 and eligible to register.

A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for patient care are essential. You should be comfortable taking initiative, open to learning, and eager to contribute to a team that values collaboration and clinical excellence. This role is open to all experience levels, from newly qualified nurses looking to build confidence to experienced RVNs seeking a fresh and rewarding challenge.
