Quality Controller – Food Manufacturing | West Cork

A well-established food manufacturing business based in West Cork is currently seeking a Quality Control (QC) Executive to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with 1–2 years’ experience looking to develop their career within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal audits covering allergens, glass & plastic control, hygiene standards, HACCP, and company procedures, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Carry out quality inspections throughout the production process.
  • Monitor and maintain standards relating to hygiene, housekeeping, food safety, legality, allergen control, traceability, and overall product quality.
  • Coordinate product testing, taste panels, and laboratory work while working closely with other departments to ensure specifications are met.
  • Support external audits including BRCGS and customer audits.
  • Perform routine specification checks, product weight checks, and review quality records to ensure compliance and accurate documentation.
  • Calibrate equipment including weighing scales and temperature probes.
  • Investigate and document non-conformances and customer complaints, ensuring corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Escalate and report any risks relating to product safety, packaging, raw materials, or equipment immediately.
  • Assist with supplier issues, customer complaints, and other quality or technical matters.
  • Verify labelling and traceability controls across production.
  • Support production teams with product safety, quality, and traceability procedures where required.
  • Carry out scheduled traceability exercises to ensure compliance with documented procedures.

About You

  • Ideally experience within a food manufacturing environment in a quality assurance or technical role.
  • Open to graduates or candidates with 1–2 years’ relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the business.
