GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR / CFO
Growth Transformation Leadership

Location: Dublin, Ireland

The Opportunity

Electro Automation Group is entering an exciting new phase of growth and development.

With current Group turnover of approximately €20 million, operations across four locations in Ireland, Northern Ireland and UK, with installation sites across Europe and a clear ambition to grow beyond €39 million by 2028, we are seeking an experienced Group Finance Director / CFO to help lead the next stage of our journey.

Electro Group maintains an oversight role across Doherty Hospitality Group (DHG), which has an established Group Financial Controller. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with DHG leadership, offering guidance, sharing ideas and providing strategic financial review while respecting operational autonomy."

This is not a traditional finance leadership role.

While strong financial management, governance and reporting are essential, the successful candidate will primarily be responsible for helping the Group build the structures, processes, leadership capability and financial discipline required to support significant future growth.

Reporting directly to the Group CEO, this individual will act as a strategic business partner, change leader and trusted advisor, helping to align people, processes and performance across the Group.

The Role

This position combines strategic financial leadership with organisational development, operational improvement and change management.

The successful candidate will help transform and scale the business while maintaining the entrepreneurial culture and customer focus that have driven our success.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Partner closely with the Group CEO, Board and senior leadership team to support strategic decision-making.
  • Help shape and deliver the Group's growth strategy.
  • Support the successful integration of possible acquisitions and expansion opportunities.
  • Provide commercial insight to improve profitability, cash generation and business performance.
  • Develop long-term financial plans aligned with Group objectives and current 3 year strategic plan creating a platform for growth.

Leadership, Change & Organisational Development

  • Lead the continued development of a high-performing Group finance function.
  • Align finance teams across four locations to create a consistent approach to reporting, controls and performance management.
  • Build strong relationships with long-serving employees while helping guide organisational change and succession planning.
  • Create accountability, clarity and structure without compromising culture and engagement.
  • Support leadership teams across the Group in improving business performance and decision-making.
  • Champion continuous improvement and organisational maturity.

Finance Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Standardise and improve financial processes, controls and governance across all Group entities.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve reporting.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, including systems development and process optimisation. The company is currently transitioning to a new ERP system Business Central.
  • Develop scalable financial structures capable of supporting future growth.
  • Improve management information and KPI reporting across the business.

Financial Leadership & Governance

  • Oversee all financial operations across the Group.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly management reporting.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Maintain strong cash flow visibility and working capital management.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and balance sheet integrity.
  • Oversee statutory compliance across Ireland, Northern Ireland, the UK and Germany.
  • Support risk management and governance activities.

Group Oversight

  • Maintain financial oversight across all Electro Automation Group entities.
  • Provide strategic oversight and governance support to Doherty Hospitality Group (DHG), which operates with its own Group Financial Controller.
  • Collaborate with DHG leadership through constructive challenge, financial review, sharing of best practices and strategic support while respecting operational autonomy.
  • Ensure consistency of governance standards and financial discipline across the wider Group.

People & Culture

  • Develop and mentor finance leaders and future successors.
  • Build capability within the finance team through coaching and development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Help create a finance function recognised as a trusted partner to the wider business.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director, CFO, Head of Finance or equivalent senior finance leadership role.
  • Experience operating within a multi-company or group structure.
  • Strong commercial and operational business understanding.
  • Demonstrated success leading organisational change and transformation.
  • Experience building or improving systems, processes and controls.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.
  • Experience supporting Boards, CEOs and senior leadership teams.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, construction or project-based environments.
  • Multi-jurisdictional experience.
  • ERP implementation and finance transformation experience.
  • Acquisition and integration experience.
  • Experience scaling businesses through periods of significant growth.
  • Advanced reporting, KPI and business intelligence experience.

Success in the Role

Success will not be measured solely through financial reporting.

The successful candidate will:

  • Build a finance function capable of supporting a €39m+ business.
  • Improve visibility, controls and accountability across the Group.
  • Successfully align finance operations across four locations.
  • Strengthen management information and commercial decision-making.
  • Improve cash management and working capital performance.
  • Support succession planning and leadership development.
  • Successfully integrate future acquisitions and growth initiatives.
  • Create scalable processes and governance frameworks.
  • Become a trusted advisor to the CEO, leadership team and wider organisation.

Who Will Thrive Here

This role will suit an individual who enjoys building rather than maintaining. You will be commercially minded, pragmatic and people-focused, with the ability to balance financial discipline with strong relationship management.

You will understand that sustainable transformation is achieved through people as much as process and will have a proven track record of bringing teams together while driving meaningful change.

For the right person, this is a rare opportunity to play a significant role in shaping the future of a growing and ambitious Group.
