About the Role

Funtasia Waterpark is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Kitchen Manager to lead our busy food-service operation.

As a family owned and operated entertainment complex, Funtasia is in the business of creating memories worth repeating by greatly exceeding guest expectations, serving others, creating emotional connections, and seeking constant improvement. This is made possible through the know-how and commitment of our team. We are proud of our team.

This is a hands-on management position suited to someone who has previously worked as a Kitchen Manager, Catering Manager or in a similar leadership role. It is not an entry-level position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining excellent standards of food quality, hygiene and customer service. You will lead and support the kitchen team while ensuring food is prepared safely, efficiently and consistently, particularly during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of the kitchen and food-preparation areas.
  • Lead, train, motivate and support kitchen team members.
  • Prepare staff rotas and ensure appropriate coverage for busy periods.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
  • Ensure all food-safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures are followed.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders and minimise food waste.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are clean, safe and well maintained.
  • Coordinate effectively with front-of-house staff and the wider management team.
  • Support menu planning and the introduction of new food options.
  • Respond calmly and professionally to operational issues.
  • Help create a positive, welcoming and enjoyable working environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong leadership and team-management experience.
  • Experience working in a busy, high-volume kitchen or hospitality environment.
  • A thorough understanding of food safety, kitchen hygiene and HACCP requirements.
  • Experience managing stock, ordering, wastage and food costs.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • A reliable, proactive and hands-on approach.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, school holidays, evenings and peak periods as required.

Experience in a leisure attraction, family-entertainment venue, hotel, restaurant or other high-volume catering operation would be an advantage.

Garda vetting is mandatory for positions in Funtasia.

Benefits:

  • Employee assistance program
  • On-site parking
