As a Deli Assistant your role includes serving deli food/fresh meat to customers and helping them with product choices and suggestions.*To fulfil the requirements for the position of Deli Assistant, we seek candidates with prior experience in Deli or other Fresh Food Retail.
To be considered for this role, here are the skills we’re looking for:
- Minimum 3 months experience in Deli /Fresh Meat environment for Deli Assistant role is required
- Conversational English Language level is essential
- Proficiency in one of the Eastern European languages (e.g.: Romanian, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Croatian, etc.)
- Sales experience is preferred
- Full flexibility is required, including the availability to work on day shifts: 5 days a week from Monday to Sunday, which may include bank holidays
Main duties of a retail Deli assistant typically include, but not limited:
- Preparing and serving deli food products such as raw meat, sausages, fish, cheese, etc.
- Assisting customers with their deli orders, providing recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the deli area, including cleaning equipment, counters, and display cases.
- Monitoring and rotating stock to ensure freshness and prevent waste.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and following proper food handling procedures at all times.
- Performing heavy lifting tasks, such as moving crates of stock or large food items, as required for stocking and organisation.
