Full job description

A fast paced job that would suit an eager and fast learner able to take on responsibilities.

The role involves operating and maintenance of Shima Seiki Knitting Machines with attention to detail. Multi-tasking capabilities required to help the Production Manager implement machine schedules to meet production deadlines.

Experience not necessarily required, as we can provide in house training.

Job will include

  • 8 weeks machine operation & maintenance training.
  • Subsequent operation and co-ordination of 8 Shima Seiki knitting machines.
  • Coordinating with the design team for new style development & our production manager for bulk orders.

We are a luxury knitwear company designing, making and selling from our location in the Aran Islands looking for a strong team player to join us. Key characteristics required include attention to detail, quick-learner, ability to work smartly and quickly, quality awareness, aesthetic appreciation, an independent spirit and empathy for customers and colleagues.

Part of a small, friendly team working bilingually through English and Irish in a unique location - good communication skills required, with Irish an advantage but not required. If the successful candidate is not already living on the island, the company can potentially introduce the candidate to a rental opportunity on the island that is currently reserved for company team members. The company will cover the cost of Irish lessons for team members when there are Irish lessons available on the island. Tar ag obair linn!
