Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Provide support to the facilities manager and facilities technician on a variety of maintenance/

facilities projects.

• Conduct routine cleaning and daily facilities duties that will ensure that service levels are upheld

and support structure maintained when off site.

• Ensure the outside of all our premises are cleaned daily.
• Liaise with service providers to ensure effective operation of cleaning, waste and recycling services

to ensure a consistent high standard, reliable service and a positive relationship. Ensure staff
awareness to improve efficiency.

• Conduct regular cleaning and facilities inspections to ensure that all health and safety guidelines

and highest cleaning standards are achieved.

• Ensure that all services are meeting budget requirements and endeavour to reduce costs where

possible.

• Recommend and implement regular improvements in cleaning, waste and recycling services.
• Conduct cost effective analysis of cleaning and waste management suppliers working with the

Facilities Manager to implement recommendations.

• Take an active role in the Abbey's Green Committee relating to cleaning, recycling and waste

management.

• First point of contact for all issues or queries relating to cleaning, waste and recycling management

while ensuring a prompt response.

• Manage purchase orders and ensure cleaning documentation is accessible and managed

appropriately.

• Conduct all Abbey Theatre business in accordance with best practice and an awareness of the

National Theatre’s goals and objectives.

• Any other duties as may be deemed reasonable and appropriate.

The post holder will have:

• At least one years’ experience in a busy facilities team
• PC literate - basic understanding of PC use, email, system information, document updating
• An interest in sustainability
• Some experience working within a trade is preferable but not essential
• Attention to detail concentration required
• The ability to communicate effectively, both over the telephone and face to face is essential
• Ability to accurately complete tasks assignments responsibilities in timely manner
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills
• Experience of working within a fast-paced office environment
• Dependable and flexible, able to work independently as well as part of a team
• A basic understanding of good health safety practices
